Norton Antivirus Live Update

Running Norton Antivirus Live Update, I have problem with the following update:
Symantec Security Software Update (288.4KB)
This file downloads to my computer but when it starts to install I recieve the following message:
Common Client Update
The Update was not completed. The update was unable to complete successfully. Please click the details button for more information.

The details are;

Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
Common Client Core 103.0.4

LiveUpdate was not able to complete this update.

Please contact Technical Support and provide all information displayed on this screen.
For contact information, go to Help->Technical Support from your Symantec product.

I tried to contact the technical support to provide this information but could'nt.
Please assist.

i would uninstall, then reinstall norton.

alilawal,

uninstalling, and reinstalling always a good idea in a situation like this. But also, if you are running Webroot's spysweeper that will prevent the updates at times. Lastly, after you do the uninstall yuo might want to delete all the files you listed to use above, if they are corrupt, they might get in the way of another install.

How does one uninstall and reinstall if they purchased the product online and have no disk to use for re-installation?

FYI instead of paying Norton $40 next year try going to AVG and getting all the free virus protection you will ever need free from now on. you can also go to asquared and they have free softwear too. only catch is its for your personal use only on your computer. no companies or businesses are allowed to use it. NOT A BAD DEAL
