In the spirit of All Hallow's Eve, I invite everyone to share their favorite (and least favorite) scary movies
Posted by: Bishop
I don't know.
I can't take any movie seriously anymore.
Horror, Drama, True Story, may as well all be comedy to me, the rediculousness of the mistakes they make, and the sheer imbecility of many movies in general warrant at least a dozen laughs.
My vote goes to hollow man.
If you don't believe me, watch me.
If you still don't believe me, watch it again.
If you STILL don't believe me, hold on a minute while I find my lead pipe.

Ahem... The SHINING!?!?!

The Exorcist. Definately The Exorcist. Especially when seen in its entirety in a dark theatre with good sound.
Slept with the light on for a week.

Event Horizon.

I'm definately with Shalome on that one, The Exorcist, hands down.

The Sound of Music.

Event horizon? Pffft, you need to watch more horror movies, Event Horrizon wasn't even remotely scary, atleeast not to me. Idea was great, but there just wasn't enough feeling, or something.
The Exorsist is good, but still not the scariest movie I've ever seen.
The best scary movie is the one that makes you change your underpants atleast twice everytime you see it.
There is no movie scary enough to do this to me yet.

Exorcist was pretty disturbing with the girl peeing on the floor and stuff...
Scream is my favorite scary movie, even though it wasn't scary.
Posted by: Bobaroo
I just saw the Exorcist tonite...about 10 minutes ago. it is pretty freaky.
I also like the Scream Series, even though they were not scary.

Poltergiest! hehe that was scary when I watched it the first time as a kid.

Event Horizon
Posted by: Darky!
Again with the event horizon, im telling you people, that movies not scary.
Scary Movie was almost more scary then that, not in horror, but the sheer stupidity of scary movie made it scary.
Posted by: Darky!
I mean, what the hell is so scary about a spaceship that goes to hell and comes back, with a phyco crewmember, and a few die. Thats not scary enough, although when the guy get cut in half, thats pretty scary, but its the only part of the movie i rember makeing me cringe a little.

Peeing is all you found disturbing? What about when she masterbated with the crucifix? ya...
Heh, definately a movie well ahead of it's time, surprised they let it in theatres back then.

EVIL DEAD II--its the greatest scary movie of all time-besides Frankenstien meets the Three Stooges....
Posted by: Canis Lupus
Bah, I dunno bout you, but Event Horizon IS pretty scary ... the story sucks, but imagery and the suspense is pretty effective... it was marketed as a scifi film but it's actually a horror film in space...
I also found John Carpenter's The Thing to be pretty scary when I first watched it years ago... And I bet very few were not scared by the ending of Carrie

Evil Dead 2 is a great movie, one of my favorites, but it's not scary in the least.
Posted by: Bishop
Event horizin bored me.
Almost to tears.
The last time I can remember being scared by a movie was watching an episode of sightings when I was up late all alone when I was 7 or 8.
my vote still goes to hollow man.

Event Horizon was cool. That one dude was FREAKY.When he went crazy..koookooo.It wasn't to scary just weird.
Posted by: Bobaroo
Exorcist is still the scariest, or atleast freakiest. And that was also made in the 70's, and was way before its time, and it is still awesome today.
And my Social Studies teacher which is my cross country was in the movie. Well atleast and glimps of his football team that he was on in GeorgeTown was....

How does army of darkness qualify as a scary movie?
It's too ridiculous to be scary.
Yes, Hollow Man, a pathetic movie in which they did everything wrong.
That's right folk's, invisibilty is next to kin of invulnerability.
Posted by: Bobaroo
Army of Darkness was not scary...it was good.

ok being that horror is my fav hehe we got to bring in some series. my fav would have to be the nightmare on elm street series. not the scariest but my fav. ill saw the scariest movie i ever saw was Pet cemetary 1. the first ill have to say about 10 times i saw that scared the shit out of me. i rented that last night and watched it also thats kinda funny =)
event horizon i dont know why but the first time i saw that scared the shit out of me also hehe ofcourse that was in the movie theatre and the sound of dss and a 10 story screen has a little bit of effect also =)
i like all the classic series i grew up on like friday the 13th and halloween and nightmare on elm street.
exrocist was not scary to me at all. it was ok i mean for a classic scary movie. well more like ancient
o and 1 more fav set for me is the evil dead series also a must see series i love those to hehe own them all.
Posted by: Bobaroo
I never got into the Friday the 13th or Hollween series. I have seen them all but i just don't like the idea of the "killer" being super human.
Pet Cemetary was a good movie, i saw it for the first time over the summer.
And the Exorcist was more freaky then scary, but some parts did scare me.
Posted by: Fink
i liked pet cemetary but my sis didnt like 1 of the parts in it cuz it mad her piss her pants and want to turn off the movie lol but i was forced to see it the other night at pepsi's house cuz he wanted me to get scared like my sis.... but it wasn't scary enough for me i guess.... but i liked it.

I think my first post on this got lost in the "shuffle" when Laggy was moving things this last weekend. But I thought some of you might like to know a tid-bit of information about The Exorcist

You might find it interesting, to know when that movie 1st came out, it Was Not shown in all theaters, even here in California. Wolf and I had to drive about 30 miles to go see it at a theater that had been closed down for about 15 years! They re-opened the theater just to show The Exorcist! The screen had huge rips in it and the seats were in desperate need of repair ..... added a LOT of pizzazz .... to the movie! hehe
I still think that Silence of The Lambs was pretty scary, the 1st time we saw it, but I think the sequel "Hannibal" .... sucked!
Posted by: Pepsi-Man[OTS]
exrocist is good just not scary. silence of the lambs and hannibal were good to me i like them both. i also like the house series. damn i could really sit here for hours naming off horror movies hehe
