jump drives

have a friend and me as well that are interested in buying 512mb jump drives. anything to lok out for? need ones htat will run on winse and xp. are there certain brands that are better? Also looking for a good ups for my pc at my work. the last outage blew out the hddd and lost everyt hing. What's a goood onw for around 150?

$150! That is awfully high for a jump drive man. At that point you might as well get a USB hard disk. I saw a western digital 80gig USB hard drive for $119.99. Those are great for back up.
Western Digital also has a one touch back up system, great if you are working with people who are computer illiterate.

As far a great thum drives, everyone complains to me about their Lexar's. I have three Kingston 8m/64m/128m which I use daily, and all are working great. My advice on these, it so make sure the tip of the drive is not too wide as to not fit into the USB ports on your computer, with other devices.
Measure twice. It's kinda frustrating to have to take your printer out, in order to plug in your USB drive, espcially when you are printing something off of it....
Most thumb drives have drivers for Win98se, but you have to download them from the MNFG site.
