Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge

Ok, here's how it goes. Both my systems, a desktop PC and a laptop, can successfully install Command & Conquer - Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge, however when it comes time to play, I get the same error message for both saying there is a problem with the main executable and it has to shut down. Now normally I'd think the disk was to blame, but I've installed YR with both my disk and a friend's disk. With either disk, I get the same error on both systems.
Desktop
- Intel P4 3.4 GHz
- Windows XP Home
- nVidia Geforce 6800, 256 MB VRAM
- 1 GB DDR RAM
Laptop
- Intel P4 3.4 GHz
- Windows XP Pro
- ATI Radeon X600, 256 MB VRAM
- 2 GB DDR RAM
At this point I'm ready to go out and get the Command & Conquer bundle. Perhaps the systems are incompatible with the game and they've made adjustments to the games since then.

try run it in compatabillity mode or run a patch cause red alert doesnt support xp
to get to complatabillty mode go to the red alert icon and right click and then click compatability.
