Neverwinter Nights Gold speed problems

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just installed Neverwinter Nights Gold into Windows XP. But it is slow as molasses! I have all the upgrades. And my computer is generic with a Syntax motherboard model SV266A & AMD 1595 Mhz processor.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What is your system specs? Videocard and RAM?
If you don't know? Download "Everest Home".

Your main problem is the video card. The Radeon 7200 is a very old card by now. and 64mb of video memory, is too small to have any lag free gaming. 128mb or 256mb of memory is what you need.

Get a Sapphire Radeon 9600XT. 256mb $93.00 This is a nice card, that supports direct X 9.0 and is pretty fast.

Or if you feel you can afford it? HIS Hightech ICE98-2H-ZAM Radeon 9800PRO 128MB 256-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail $136.00 This card is equipped with an extra efficient cooler. Wich allows you to overclock the card pretty much, if you ever feel the need to speed up the card. And as the cooler exhaust the hot air right out in the rear of the case. It won't add any extra heat to your Pc. Just have in mind that, as this card is big. It will use up 2 slot openings in the back of the PC.

You can find the cards here: http://www.newegg.com/

The rest of your rig seems o.k.
