Radeon 9800 pro Fan Problem

Hi,
I just got a 9800 pro of ebay (ok not the best place to buy a new card, but I wanted to get one cheap).
Anyway, I got the card and installed it but when I power on, the fan does not turn. I havent been in windows longer than a minute because I don't want it to overheat, by the display seems fine. I've tried it in another pc and the fan still doesn't work. Is there a way to corect this, or any simple solutions?
The manual says to use the supplied power connector (which I don't have), but in the diagrams it looks like an average cable and a normal one fits in the slot the same as it fits in the cd rom, hdd etc....
I know a 3rd party cooler is a good idea, but I don't really want to spend any more money unless I have to.
The card is a default ATI model with 128mb of hynix ram.
Thanks in advance

Have you checked if the 3 pin fan connector is connected from the videocard fan to the connector on the card?
You will also have to connect a 4 pin Molex connector from the PSU to the back of the card.
See picture.
If the fan still is dead? You will have to replace the VGA cooler.

Hi
The power connectors are all in place. I think its just the fan that needs oiling- it seems a bit stiff and the motor turns when you give it a little manual push when its on. I've given it a little oil, but no difference yet....

You will probably have to let it run for a while before the oil take effect.
