Studio 9

I have Windows 98SE with only 8 free gb of memory. Now I'm told I do not have enough conventional memory. I do not have any idea what to do. I have installed and reinstalled the Studio 9 program to try and make a DVD of my grandaughter's graduation and it pulls up to the logo and a little of the background of the Studio 9 program and "stops responding" I'm not a real literate person on the computer and am at a loss? Can you help? I've contacted Pinnacle several times to no avail. I'm either put on hold or told to delete and reinstall? I purchased an extra external hard drive of 160 gb to be able to do this. I've purchased a DVD recorder and I get as far as capturing the event, and beginning to edit, but if I leave and turn my computer off I am unable to get back into Studio 9? Please help?

Hi!

How much total RAM memory do you got?
If you dont know?

Download Everest Home:

For Windows 98 and ME. 256 mb to 512 mb of RAM is a good amount.

Did you install Pinnacle on the external drive or on C drive? Pinnacle has issues with being on a drive other than C drive.
Also what are the specs on you computer?

I use Studio 9 all the time to make DVDs and have found that you can expect a number of things with it. First it will hang up periodically, and it will crash the system periodically and display the Blue Screen which will require a reboot. I am running 512 of memory and an external 80Gb drive for the files which are generally at least 5Gb. what you need to ensure is; when you start the program you delete the Auxiliary files from the "File" menu which will make additional hard drive space available, you should save the file on a separate drive that you can ensure has plenty of space (This location is specified in the Make Movie Tab by touching the file icon), I have an XP operating system with 512 of memory , 2.17GHz processor and still experience periodic lock ups of the application and crashes. The other thing you can do is shut down any unnecessary programs that are running in the background. These hints should help you create a DVD, but I would suggest getting an external drive specifically for these files.
