Palm screens to watch out for!

I have a Palm IIIe which I use to keep track of my busy schedule, but ran out of memory so I purchased a Palm IIIxe (where do they get their model designations from?)at the local Staples over the weekend. I bring it home and find out that something was wrong. It just didn't feel good (got to love these subjective qualifiers). It takes me about an hour of puzzlement until I notice that the protective plastic top screen bulged away from the lower glass screen, in other words a giant air bubble. This caused a lower sensitivity when using the stylus, so much so that I hated it and brought it back. I asked the knowledgeable sales staff some questions (sarcasm~they rarely know what your talking about let alone what your asking). End result is they open another box and get the same horrible screen. I get a refund and go to another local store and buy one with a nice tight screen. If someone didn't know any better they would think nothing wrong with the bad screens, and I wonder about that. I noticed the same thing with other display models of various Visor and Palm machines. It seems it is a hit or miss afair. If you are planing on buying a PDA, make sure that the plastic screen is nice and tight with no air bubble between the screen layers. In other words, if you use your stylus on the screen, you should not see the plastic covering screen dimple very much. Just a thing to watch out for.
ps. Laggy, if this is a rant...sorry about placing it here

You sure it's not just one of those things where you're supposed to just pull off the plastic?

Positive. When you buy them, there is loose protective plastic layer that you pull off..it is very noticeable. No, what I describe is the actual screen itself designed to write on.
