I have a wireless g router NetgearWGR614v6. It will not allow me to get internet access. I called netgear and they had me go to start>run.>command> ipconfig> then address 192.168.1.1 I think I put in front of the address ipconfig space. When I hit enter a message comes back in some foriegn language. They say it's my computer and take the router to another computer and try it. I have moved and really don't know anybody. I can't see how it is my computer when it has never done anything like this before. Can anyone help me. Thanks Miles

Who is your ISP?

Allright, if i recall the netgear routers, they have on the back of them, a ip adress (likely the one you said). Open up any browser, and type that in. It will launch the router configuration software. From there, call them and talk to them. Then again, you may see the problem from there. Also, I assume you have the cable box/dsl box pluged to the wall then the router. Sorry if it makes you sound like an idiot with that, but i did have some friends who hooked the router directly to the feed. Most ISPs (i think all in fact) wont work with that. Not the most technical post, but it should help.
If it asks for a username and password, it should be on the back of the router. i think that series went with admin and password, but look it up.
