Yahoo IM locking up (going unresponsive)

I have the new yahoo 7 messenger. Ever since I installed it, yahoo keeps going unresponsive when ever i try to change my display picture in a chat window. When I went from the previous version, everything worked fine. Some people will show a display image for me but for those that dont, yahoo goes unresponsive when trying to get one put in. For those that do, yahoo goes unresponsive if I try to change it. I uninstalled the yahoo 7 and went back to the previous version I had. I get the same unresponsive message with the old version as I did with the new version. I'm able to talk to people, send/receive files, etc. Everything that you could normally do with yahoo except the display image thing. I always end up have to get into teh task manager to close out yahoo.
I've tried changing the display image from both the preferences area and from inside the IM window itself.
Any thoughts on why that i happeneing and what I can do to fix it?
