Microsoft could lose over $1 billion on the X-Box. Here's a snip from Reuter's:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. could lose as much as $1 billion on its new Xbox video game console before breaking even in fiscal 2004, an influential Wall Street analyst said on Monday...
Microsoft has said it will spend as much as $500 million on the initial marketing for Xbox, which will retail for $299, the same price as PlayStation 2 and $100 more than the GameCube.
Also, if you are a MSN Hotmail user with accounts that aren't active, you should log into them soon:
Users now have only 30 days to log in before their accounts are deactivated. Previously, they had 45. However, they have another 90 days to request reactivation before the account is deleted altogether.
This can be avoided for a monthy fee. I've noticed quite a few free email providers move to fee-based services, including Runbox, which was what I used. Source: ShortNews.
While at ShortNews, I also noticed this:
A new plug-in for AOL Time Warner's Winamp has added a new feature, changing the title bar of any window which happens to be open, allowing users to pause, play, and alter music lists without having to switch windows.
Even though Microsoft may argue, this isn't a big deal. Plug-ins can be easily disabled.
