My computer was recently murdered by airport security. When I turn it on it does not POST and my motherboard makes the PC speaker beep long tones continuously. According to my motherboard's manual, this indicates a DRAM error. I do not know if this means I need to replace my motherboard or my ram, if anyone can lend me suggestions or more information it would be greatly appreciated. I miss my computer.

Hi!
Then you need to replace your RAM.
Corsair "value select" is a good and cheap RAM.

I'd try pulling it out, then reseating it first. It doesn't have to be broken, maybe it just came loose.

I tried reseating several times, I've also tried switching their places and all combinations of channels and sticks possible with 2 sticks of ram and 4 channels.

Then maybe your motherboard is smoked.
Because if you have 2 sticks to choose from. Then at least 1 should work. It is very rare, that both pops at the same time.
But if you are able to try the sticks in another computer?
Also try pulling the mobo battery for 30 min.

Reseat everything including the processor. Also look for blown or damaged capacitors.

Reseating everything (including processor) resulted in the mobo posting, a phenonmenon that had not previously occured and a CMOS checksum error. Am currently letting it sit with the battery out, however the last time I had one of these with a previous mobo I had to re-flash the CMOS. Thank you thtadthtshldntb, you have potentially saved me the expense of buying ram I didn't need.

New update, flashing CMOS resulted in full recovery of windows with the exception of my keyboard not working in windows, however it still works in BIOS.

Problem resolved, computer back to 100%. Does anyone want me to transcribe my repair log for scrutiny and/or educative purposes?
