Gigafast router EE410-R disconnects from DSL modem

I have a SBC 2Wire DSL modem. And I bought this Gigafast 4-poert DSL router EE410-R and am experiencing frequent "disconnects from internet".

When this happens the two PCs that I've connected to the router can't access the internet. But if I connect either one of them directly to the DSL modem, internet works instantaneously. I don't have a fixed IP from SBC.

I am really tired of this flaky router. To fix it, i have to do the following steps:
1)Power off my DSL modem
2)Power off my Gigafast router.
3)Take off all my PC connections into the router.
4)Power on the DSL modem
5)Wait for the Power and BroadbandLink ligts to go green
6)Power on the Gigafast router with just the uplink connceted
7)After a minute, connect my PC to the router port
8)Internet works !!!

Any help on why this router is behaving this way would greatly help !!!!
Thanks.
Chet.

Ok, what you posted tells me only that you are connecting to the router.

Look in the router setup page. On the page where you can input your logon name and password, make sure that they are there. Also there is a check box or drop down list with connection maintenance options. Make sure that you have selected the option which reads something to the extent "always maintain dsl connection". Your setting might be on "connect as needed". In my experience this option does not work as advertised.
