It's not true. You can burn DVDs with only a DVD burner, and no DVD-rom drive just fine. You'll just have to make an image everytime you want to copy a DVD, but most burning programs will do this for you automatically.

An image of a DVD is basically one big file on your hard drive that has the entire contents of the DVD in it. It's a copy of the DVD. Since you don't have a DVD-Rom drive, you'll have to make that copy to your hard drive first whenever you need a DVD copied. But like I said before, most programs will do this automatically when you use the burner as your DVD source, you shouldn't worry about it.

Get Nero Buring rom 6.0 or Roxio 6.0 software and you are able to burn any image of your choise.
