sony vaio dvd drive problems

Hello,
I have been having problems with my dvd drive lately. The drive will not read anything! It worked fine till now...its like it just quit. It'll show the loading ican like its loading the disk, then it just quits. It wont read dvd's or any other media. Thats my burn drive and i cant burn anything either. I've already cleaned the drive by taking it apart and cleaning the lens carefully and mirror on the back and i still got nothing. I really am hoping i dont have to buy a new dvd/burn drive. Any help will be much appreciated.

Did you try changing the IDE cable?
Also, try a different line on your PSU, maybe that wire shorted out or something. Check your PSU output with a multimeter.
If not a PSU problem, or a wire problem, the drive is probably fragged.
