Won't boot up

My first time, so here goes. I just installed a new ASUS mobo A7N8X-E. After messing with it a bit it started up. The cpu fan and the psu fan worked. Installed XP and everything was going fine. Installed drivers still OK. Shut the computer down for the night. Next morning turned computer on wouldn't boot up. Cd & DVD drives spun, not sure if I heard the hard drive. No beep, no monitor. Bought old mobo in March 2005 replaced it with the ASUS. Also bought Maxtor 160 hd, CPU & RAM in March. Had extented test done on the ram, ram is good. Could it be the processor. Put in a new psu in July 2005. I am at a loss on what to do now. I tried a different hard drive, and got the same results. I also tried another video card. No difference. Can anyone tell me what I am missing or what to try next. Thanks for any help you can give.

Please list exact system specs and partiularly note old hardware being reused.
