Printer problem

I have no idea what I'm doing here, but have a problem with my HP PCS 2210xi printer in tht my cartridges won't align. I get the message to press enter to align repeatedly, with no alighment. I have one old cartridge that aligns easily, it's a photo color cartridge (58) in the 56-58 position. But when I put in new black cartridges (56) in, they won't align. I've tried cleaning the cartridge holder contact, but it doesn't help.
