Frequent Crashes in 3d games

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just recently built a computer, and it doesn't seem to quite like 3-d games. So far, World of Warcraft, Warcraft III, and UT2k4 all crash frequently, as in more than 3 times in an hour during regular play. I usually end up getting some nVidia display driver-related issue, and i've tried to use 77.77, but games still crash. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this, please help.

AMD 64 3500+ Venice Stock
eVGA nforce 4 SLI motherboard
eVGA 7800 GTX
1 GB Corsair Value Ram
550w PSU

Example of a WoW Error I get:

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00672603

The instruction at "0x00672603" referenced memory at "0x11256BD8".
The memory could not be "written".

If I can get any of my games to crash I'll report the errors here.

Hi!

As the problem is related to 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00672603, it is likely to be driver related.

I have seen lots of such problems with the new Geforce series 6 and 7 series cards. And I have had the same troubles myself.
But I have found a couple of drivers, that works well for me.

This is modified drivers from "Extreme".
So if you just register at Extremes home. Wich is obligation free. You can download and try following drivers: 77.13 and 77.76 HD . But you should uninstall the old driver first and download "NVclean" driver cleaner, and use that software after you uninstalled the old driver.

NVclean here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/

Another nice bonus with these driverss is better image quality and FPS.

I'll try that out and tell you how it goes. I just ran 3dmar05 and i actually crashed out of it, which really surprised me..never happened before..

Well, 3dmark05 ran through ok (7770), as soon as i can ill test some games and see if they crash again. Thanks for the advice, I really hope it worked.
