my ps2 makes a grinding noise

when i try to play a game or a dvd its not the games definitely ps2 anyone have any advice????

I have had this problem too. Have you tried putting it on it's side or laying it flat? If that doesn't work and it's still under warranty you should send it in or call Sony. If it's not under warranty you might be able to find somethin' on Google for fixing it.
For me the sound went away when I changed it in the upright position, instead of laying flat. Oh yeah, make sure the surface is level though.
