WIN XP cannot burn CD

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I assisted a friend to recover her Windows XP a few months ago,
but after the recovery, she couldn't burn any cd-roms from her combo drive.
She has no problem with reading CDs.
Only when she uses the in-built xp burning program, the problem happens.
She can move the files to be drafts, but she cannot burn them on the cd-rom.
Wonder if anyone knows about this problem?

Try another CD-burning program ( ex. Roxio, NTI, WMPlayer, RealPlayer) and see what happens. If you still can't burn CDs, its a problem with the drive itself. If you can burn the CD using another program, then it is a problem with the program and you should use another program.

When not able to burn any non protected Recording that you have recorded. and even when the Cd is not burning..Then Download and install sp26519 that resolves the issue .
You can find this patch from Microsoft.com as well as ...HP.com and then go to support and drivers and you can download this patch...100 % assurance that the issue will get resolved
