NT Compatible lengthened their Windows XP FAQ today. It can be found here.
They also have a short news update on Direct X 8.1 on their front page:
Microsoft has released DirectX 8.1 final to the beta testers. Expect a public release during the next days.
Registered beta testers can download DirectX 8.1 from the Beta Place website.
