Civ. II Test of Time wont install

im not sure wheather to post in pc gaming or in hardware but since it was having to do with the game ill put it here.
ok here's my prob.- every time i go to install Test of Time, the installer comes up good but when i click on the install button, the drive revs up and reads the cd but no further installation wizard comes up.
its like it jus dies right there. heres where it starts to get a little wierd; when i go to my event viewer, i get no error msgs under app.
i run win xp on an amd athlon xp 2600+, 2.08ghz, with 512mb of ram. i also run an nvidia geforce 2 video card with the latest drivers. (thats the only thing ive changed in my specs over the last month)
now the thing with the video card is that it is stuck that way. if i try to change cards ill have to do a complete reformat of the drive. (when i was changing the drivers, i was dumb enough to leave windows firewall running, it ended up blocking some registry keys that allowed for a change of drivers/cards. dont know exactly what the keys were it was a while ago now)
suffice it to say im stuck with the card and drivers i got now.
so im wondering if i can ever fix this problem or im just stuck like this (i really hope u guys can help me fix it)
