Who is the manufacture of my Soundcard??

Hi there everyone, i
cant play any sounds on my computer at all!!
the error on wmediaplayer says > 80040256 <
I know i need to install an driver for my soundcard but the problem is that i dont know the manufacture of my soundcard. Isnt there any way i possibly could find out who the manufacture is? or is there drivers that function universally?
The problem occurred when i reinstalled windows xp.

Is the sound card on-board? If yes, install the motherboard drivers, If not open your computer case, look a the sound card, the pic gives an example where you find the manufacture, then you go to their web site and download the driver.
