Please Help! Dnas Error (-603)

Hi there, I've tried everything Sony and my ISP (Bell Sympatico) have told me to do, but I still get the DNAS Error (-603). It connects to the internet just fine, it's just getting past the DNAS. Can anybody help me? I've been trying everything for the past 3 days!

Check all your network connections. Also, please tell exactly what the error says.

The error exactly says "Connection timed out. Please try connecting again at a later time." The thing is though I've been trying about 50 times the past 3-4 days. My PS2 connects to the internet rather fast, only takes about 2-3 seconds, then the DNAS screen comes up, after about a minute it says that.
I really appreciate you helping me, or viewing my thread for that matter. Most sites haven't even looked at my thread, and it's frustrating. Thanks so much for helping out.
Additional information:
-My ISP is Bell Sympatico
-Regular model PS2
-My PS2 is hooked up right to my DSL modem just like my ISP's website suggested
-The game I'm having this trouble with is EA Sports NBA Live 06, I haven't tried any other online game because I don't have another one.

Try hooking a computer directly op th the modem and see if you can visit web pages. Web page requests often "time out" if the web page is has so many requests comming in that not all the people trying to access the page can do so. The game room you are trying to access may just be very popular. Rent another online game from blockbuster or some other video/game rental store and see if you can get an online connection there. Also check all your network connections and cables. If after that you still can't get any connection, contact your DSL provider to check your cable connection and have your modem checked out.

I did connect my computer directly to the modem and it works just fine, I know what you mean by game room, by I haven't even gotten to the point where I can select which game room I want to go in, I'm stuck at the DNAS screen with that error. I checked all my cables and connections almost all day the past 3-4 days, and I'm still getting that same error message. I heard of people with the same problem on the Playstation message boards, and they get the same error code as well, no matter what game they play.
I've tried almost everything, what should I ask my ISP for? I already got a new modem because my old one wasn't working, and my DSL connection seems to be fine. Any other suggestions?

The next thing I would do is get the PS2 and wires connecting it to the modem checked. What type of wire is used to conect the PS2 to the modem? If its a modem or ethernet wire you can try another but if its a special cable from sony then have them look at it. Its obviously a problem with the game console itself or the external wires if you can get an internet connection and go to web pages on your computer. If you know someone else with a PS2 and online service, bring the game to thier console and see if you can play online there.

I don't think it can be the wires, I think you mis-read. My PS2 can connect fine to the internet, when I did the network configuration disc setup, it connected fine and only took about 6 seconds to do so. When I hit 'Play online' on Live 06, it brings me to the log-in, I fill it out then hit connect. It connects fine to the internet, then the DNAS screen pops up and it can't get past that. Network error (-603) pops-up. I'll check the wires but I extremely doubt it could be the wires.

Can it send data over the internet? Do you get the error when you hit send to log in? If so, it may be a problem not so much with the connection, but with sending the data from the game to the internet. Play the game online on another console. If the problem still presists, then I'll admit I'm stumped. If I can't help you further, contact sony technical support (if they have one).

Yeah that I think is the problem, is sending information. I'll try playing the game on my friends PS2 tomrorow and see how that works out, I'll let you know how it goes. I already contacted Sony, they told me to contact my ISP, I did do that, they didn't help at all, so I'm pretty much on my own here.

If you can play online using your friend's PS2, its definitely a problem with yours. If not, then have a pro come to your house and check everything, but I'm quite sure its a problem with your PS2, in which case you should send it to sony to get it serviced, and hopefuly it will be under waranty and it will not cost you anything. I'm sorry if I cannot help you further, but my areas of experience are mainly in setting up computers and external devices, configuring/fixing problems with the windows os, and using Microsoft Office.

hi I am having the exact same problem with FIFA 2006, it won't progress past the DNAS screen, the Network disk seems to holt there as well.
I'm using a router with mine though and setting up the DZN to (aparently) allow the PS2 to connect. I also have various different ethernet cables so I don't believe it is that. From my router I can see that a connection has been established to the net for the PS2 but that is it.
Please help anyone

firewalls may be on also you have to fiddle with the ports when using routers some just dont like ps2 i went through to routers before i found one that would work
typically just plug in the router and use it do not install the disc
also you could update the firmware on your router or modem
i used to play final fantasy 11 nut could not play it during certain peak hours typically 5-7pm eastern time after that i would not get -603 error message

Well funniliy enough i am having the same problem. It makes me want to throw my ps2 in the bin. Every single time i try to go online with MOH RISING SUN it comes up with DNAS ERROR (-603) - An authentication error has occurred. Please contact your local Playstation customer care line on the number provided in the software manual for assistance. Yes it connects to the internet within 5 seconds but DNAS always fails. NEED HELP BADLY.....BEEN TRYING FOR 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!

error 604 in relation to ps2 online i could maybe guess that your playing a modchip or maybe a burnt/illegal disc. just a theory, sorry couldnt b more help as im a xbox phreak

sounds like firewall issues! Check your firewall logs on your modem/router. Also, it could be service issues like one post where the gentleman said he couldn't connect at certain hours..
