Same router MAJOR bandwidth differences on 2 comps

Ok so I have 2 computers on one router (linksys befsr41) one of them gets about 1100-1300 kbps down on this site useing the SF server... The other computer gets between 3000 and 4000... they both get the same upload (500-520).

The slow computer has win XP pro SP2, spyware, virus, and adware checked.

The faster one has win XP home SP1.

Is the service pack making it slower?

Any help would be nice. Just tell me if you need more info.

Thx

have you tweaked the sp2 one for optimum performance? some of the default services will affect just about everything.

Yeah. I have disabled most things that are not required, and set other stuff on manual. And still same slowness. The home install hasn’t been touched. Funny thing is that I thought I was getting average speeds in tell I built a new computer for my girlfriend and did a speed test WOW... The most I have seen for a download speed on my comp is 200 KB/s hers gets easily 500 KB/s.

Any one have ANY idea why it would do this? I’m the one that plays online games… she just goes on the Internet… it’s not fair
