Problems with Yahoo Mail - unable to add addresses to lists

It appears to be a java scripting error. I have ensured that Java scripting is enabled. But it still doesn't work. I get an "error on page" notice at the bottom left of the window and then I am unable to add any addresses to an existing list ... or create a new list. I believe this whole problem started when a "friend" set up Yahoo Messenger on my computer. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem? Can you suggest a fix? I also, get messages stating that java scripting needs to be enabled in order to view pics on web sites. But, again, I have ensure that they are enabled in my settings. Please, somebody, help!
