i tried getting a trial version of flash, but when i run the wizard it tells me i need an updated version of windows installer. then, when i do anything that has to do with the "Windows Installer" it tgives me an error that says. "The WINDOWSINSTALLER-KB............exe file is linked to missing NTDLL:NtOpenProcessToken" basicly i was wondering wtf that means, and if i can fix it. thanx

run a registry cleaner and/or find that file somewhere and put it on your comp.

where would i find the file at?

There are many websites that provide free downloads of important system files.

halfcat,

What version of windows do you have? XP? You have service pack 2 right? Run windows update, and the first thing it will download Windows Installer 3.1. See if that helps. If that doesn't work, go to Microsoft's site and download the MSI cleanup tool. See if that helps. If all that failed you might have to do a repair install of windows.

Hi,

I have the same problem, I have downloaded ntdll.dll from the suggested site, but if I try to open it, I am asked which program to open the file with. Help!

DLL files are executable files that programs access. Just put it in its proper folder and it will do its job. No need for you to open it manually

Ehm, what would the proper file be then? Maybe I have to install something else to open it? I have just downloaded ntdll.dll from the site.

On my computer, ntdll.dll is in the following folders.
c:\i386
c:\i386\SYSTEM32
c:\WINDOWS\system32
Check each of the folders and if the file is not there then put it there.
