I have been trying to set up a VPN and I keep getting error message 721- cannot connect. I had my IT guy here and he thought it had something to do with Norton Antivirus, so I unistalled it. Needless to say it didnt help. Im using Windows XP and have a cable modem.
Can anyone help
Thanks

Do you have a router? If so, you might need to do some port forwarding.
Do you have your Windows XP firewall enabled? If so, you'll need to configure it to allow VPN traffic.
Have you made sure you have all the latest service packs and updates for Windows XP? I had trouble getting pre-SP2 Windows XP to work with VPNs... but once I got all the updates it worked fine.

Shalome, Thanks for responding -
I do have a router, My tech made sure I had all the updates. The funny thing is - he thought it might be something with the norton antivirus - my firewall for windows is disabled and I am unable to enable it. Im just so frustrated.

Okay. In your router, you're going to have to makie a 'hole' to allow traffic to go between your computer and where you're VPNing to... that's my guess. What type of router do you have? Also, do you know what port your VPN is running on? If not, your tech probably knows... it would also help if you could let us know what progam you are using for VPN...
