120 Gb External Hd Partitioning On Mac And Pc

Hello
I just got a 120GB external HD ..( USB 2.0 )
I want to partition it so that 60 GB will be used for Mac data and the other 60 for PC data...
cant seem to make it work ..

It seems to me that you do not need to do anything special, just partition the drive, and network it so that you can access it from your Mac. The Mac has no trouble reading a PC-formatted volume.
