Red Alert 2: Please help…LAN game

I’m a proud owner of the game Red Alert 2 and Yuris Revenge expansion and still play the game to this very day. I really want to play the game over a local area network but neither Red Alert 2 nor Yuris Revenge lets me do this, I can play any features in the game as far as I know, but when I click Network in the Multiplayer menu nothing happens. My LAN is set up fine because I’m able to play other LAN games. I really have no idea of what to do and I’d appreciate any help you can give me.

Try installing the IPX protocol for your network. That's what older games need for network play.

Thanks for your previous help outlaw, as you would be correct because the game does say something about IPX adress in the settings. If you know how i could install the IPX protocol for my network could you please help again. Thanks again, you have been a great help.

Right-click Network Neighborhood, choose Properties. Right-click your LAN connection, choose Properties. Click the Install button. Then say you want to add a protocol, and choose IPX/SPX from the list (or whatever comes closest).

Hey whats up, long time reader first time poster.
Anyways.
I am haveing similar problems with RA2, except that my IPX is installed just fine and dandy. When i click on network nothing happens, and in the options/network menu there is no network device listed. I just built this computer like 3 days ago, so all the kinks really arent worked out yet, but RA2 was the first game i tried to play (kinda sad aint it)
I am going to attach my dxdiag if that helps, you can notice that ipx is installed... but if i go to test directplay there is no listing for ipx in that section, only ip.
RA2 is my fav game of all time, so if anyone can help me fix this your karma will go up like 10 points.
