Download SIS Sandra. And run the "Fine Tune Wizard" module. Then, when Sandra is finished,. Look down that list. And under "Tips" you will find wich services you safely can shut down.

Then go : START + RUN.

In RUN, type: msconfig.

Click the tab "Sevices". And shut down, what Sandra says is safe to disable.

Run a couple of anti Spyware scanners.

Shut down programmes you installed, that you don't often use anyway.

Run a couple of on line Virus scanners, like "Bitdefender on line" and "Trend Micro House call"

P.s. I forgot to ansver your initial question lol.

It's very hard to tell EXACTLY what it is that "eats" your RAM.

But if you do, what I suggested above. You will at least get some of it back.

A RAM defrag software (RAM Manager) is also a good thing to use. Memory Zipper Plus, is very good.

in system information it says i have a total of 256mb ram and 39mb ram available so how do i get more ram available? or doesnt this allow my wc3 loading to load faster?

so which would you recommend me to use, RAM Manager or Memory zipper plus?

If you run Windows XP?
Then you will need both to shut down unnessisary services. Wich XP is full of.
Then also use Memory Zipper Plus. Wich is a RAM Manager / defrag tool.
But you should really get at least another 256mb RAM stick. Same type and speed as your old one.

This because 512mb of RAM, is minimum when running Windows XP.

And sweeping your harddrive for spyware is also a good thing.

how do we use memory zipper plus?

256 ram wont work, even with win98. on a higher os, you can forget about playing games with taht much ram, regardless of fiddling.
