Reformating??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Recently while downloading music, a file i downloaded happened to expand into thousands.. literally thousands of zip files with viruses. After a bit of fighting with them, my computer has totally shut down and will not start up again. It says something "NTDLR is missing" on a black screen and thats all.

So I inserted my xp disk and It says I can set up Xp or repair Xp. Do I want to choose one of these? Could someone be so kind and tell me what to do - I didnt have anything extremely important on my computer so it wouldnt be a problem if I had to "redo" everything on my comp. Help Please!!?? Thanks

I'd go with reformating... but understand that this will DELETE EVERYTHING on your hard drive. so go with setup, not repair.

unless you wish to format, scan the drive in another computer and remove the virus. then put it back and repair.
