"please verify cd is in" HELP!!! PLEASE!

ok so ive had diablo for a wile but i took it off my computer and got a new one, and i havnt tried to install it for a long time and now it installs fine but when i put the cd in nothing happens, so i went to my computer D:/ and intall then the window popped up "run diablo" upgrade etc so i went run and then it thought fo ra secound than a minit later it said verify disc is in and it continues to do this and the disk is fine no scratched infact i copyed the disc and tryied with that and it didnt work HELP

Find a program that will take the image of it and use Daemon tools or some such program to mount the image. Turn all emulations on and try to run it off the cd image. If that doesn't work, the problem could be with your cd drive. Have you had problems with any other games/cds? If you know someone else who has the game, does their copy of the cd work in your cd drive?
