ok my broadband connection has been acting up lately, like ill goto open a webpage and 50% of the time everything loads fine, the other 50% of the time it acts like someone pulled the cat5e cable out of the back of the computer, sometimes restarting the computer or retsarting the router will help but not as of lately...
now i just formatted it yesterday, it was doing this before hand and now its still doing it, wtf? id think its the router but everything is in place there and when you restart the router that doesnt always fix it(like a 50/50 chance of it fixing it) ...
like right now it loaded fine when i opened this new thread, but now its giving me hell trying to post, it keeps saying The page cannot be displayed
:edit: also i relize noone checks the internet forum but this is the proper forum for this

Connect your computer directrly to your broadband modem, if the problem goes away then it is most likely the router is going out, if not...then your modem may be the cause, then i'd advise to call your ISP's tech support and let them trouble shoot.
Also it could be your NIC card....if you have an extra one, try it...does it happen to all computers? have you tried different ports on the router?

oh 4 comps on network, happens to all of them, it happened when i didnt have a router and it went strait to the nic card too, i called my isp like a year ago kuz of it and they were like its your router...
ive had this problem for a LONG time, and its kinda annoying

when was the last time you reset the modem?

I have had problems like that before. What ISP do you have? The problem could be on their end. If you cannot find a solution i would suggest calling your ISP and setting up a service appointment so they can figure out whats going on.

If you're using cable internet AND cable TV at the same time, I would suggest not using the same outlet for both the TV and the computer. (At least, this was causing similar problems for me.)
