error, cant play d2 LOD

hi, i received a error like tat saying
Assertion Failure

how to solve this omg i cant play d2 LOD...

omg now after i patch the 1.11b i got another error and also stop me from playing d2 LOD

bear with me, i'm a programmer and not much of a gamer, but are you playing this game online, or is it a stand-alone single player game ? ( i loaded one of the versions of diablo years ago, but didn't really play it any)
the reason i ask is that reference to gateway, but the wierd part is the 1.8777xxxE+231, which is the number 1.87777 followed by 231 zeroes !!!! so there's like no way that your machine could have tried the gateway that many times, it's like a bigger number than the age of the universe!
probably has something to do with memory gateway rather than networking, so
I recommend, rebooting your machine and trying the game again, with less things running in the lower right corner of the task bar and also, try setting your screen resolution to 800x600 before starting the game...

I know what you mean, i had the exact same problem.
I installed the Diablo 2 normal, it worked 100%.
I installed Diablo 2 LOD, It gets to the screen before the menu, Makes a Error Beep, and freezes, had that first message that you were asking for help about.
I updated to Version 1.11b . It got rid of the first error, but then the second error came up, believe me, i have now reinstalled\repatched 5 times now and still seeking the awnser to fixing this error so i can play with my two brothers on USWest B-Net.
So if someone could please help us, you would have our 110% Thanks  .
