Works on one does not work on the other!!

People I need some help here. I have two computers both hooked up to broad band with an RCA modem and a router. Everything is working fine for a year and then yesterday I flipped on the the computer and the internet wold not work...kept going to "page can not be displayed" and "dectecing proxy settings" "there is no internet connection currently avaiblable" "would you like to work offline". Why did it just stop working all of a sudden and the other computer internet works just fine.
I rebooted the computer hoping that would help but nothing has changed...still doe not work.
I have played with everything I know...LAN settings. etc.
What am I missing here!?!?!
If you need more information to help me out please let me know.
I really need for this to start working again! HELP!!

In the network connections window is the LAN reporting that a local network cable is unplugged?

I have no idea. The thing was not working for like 4 days all messed up..I just come home turn on and then the next thing I know everything works. I have no idea what that was all about..but I appreciate your posting
