Why can't my PC play warcraft III?

everytime i try to run warcraft III an error screen appears:
This program has encountered a critical error!
FATAL ERROR!
Program: C:/Warcraft III/War3.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 00 B1: 00000000
The instruction at '0x00000000' the referenced memory at '0x00000000'
The memory could not be 'read'
Press OK to terminate the application
I don't know whats wrong with my PC as my friends could play it smoothly....
Please help  (
