Hi,

I hope that someone can help me. When the computer boots it does not boot into windows, first of all the computer makes a continous noise , the computers lights up and the monitor aswell, I looked at the fans but they seem to be working, also the monitor displays a square with lines in colour and all around it is in black, the graphics card is not old, I changed it not a long time ago y has been working well. Anyone with an idea of what it could be???

Thankyou

This noise? Can you tell us more about it?
Sounds like it could be the powersupply.
Check the PSU fan and if you can smell anything burnt from the PSU?

Hmm... I would open her up, disconnect the power cable from the psu, put the JCMOS jumper in the clear position, remove the CMOS battery, leave it out for 30 mins, make sure the Memory and CPU are seated properly (remove them, blow dust off, check for char marks, re-insert ). Put battery in, put jumper back to original position, plug into wall and restart. If that doesn't work, make sure power button is not sticking, I remember the ear piercing wail of a stuck power button but I doubt thats your problem. If its not, time to tray your processor and/or memory in another board and see if that works.... Process of elimination style

Hi,

Well thanks for helping me. I have written cause I found out what the problem was and I wanted to let you know, it was the processor that had burned out. Anyway thanks for everthing.

Kisses

See you later

That sucks. I've never burnt a processor. Sorry to hear your processor burnt out.
