6600 and rivatuner

I have read various articles about people unlocking pipelines and vertex shaders on their nvidia cards and was wondering if anyone knew if a xfx geforce 600 agp can be unlocked at all.

The 6600 has 8 pipes and has a 128mbit membus. So there's nothing to unlock.
The only thing you can do is overclocking it with Riva Tuner.

I considering upgrading to a GeForce 6800 AGP however i'm confused by all the different variations such as GT GS XT etc, which one is better etc. I have about £160-£180 to spend at the most.

XFX PVT40KNDD3 Geforce 6800 128MB 256-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail $179.00. newegg.
This will probably be the best bang for buck.
GT and GTX are faster versions. GS and SE are slower.

Cant seem to find this card on any UK site, is it USA only ?
I dont mind buying from the US but the only thing that worries me is if it goes wrong and I would have to RMA back to the USA, expensive postage etc but thanks for finding this card for me, much appreciated.

No worries mate!

Here is a nice Swedish / English Webshop for you:

Unfortunatly, they did'nt have the straight 6800.
So you will have to choose between this cards:

POINT OF VIEW GeForce 6800GX 128MB DDR AGP8X, Tv-Out, DVI, Retail £129.00

XFX GeForce 6800XT 128MB DDR, AGP8X, Tv-Out, DVI, 325Mhz, Retail £116.99

http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/kl.asp

p.s. I think these are faster than the "Vanilla" 6800.

Thanks once again mate

You're welcome.

I think you will be very satisfied with any of these cards.
