Computer is slowing down

Recently I have noticed a huge decline in my computers performance. Its taking longer for programs to open, things to start up and more. It pretty much happened over night. I did a virus scan and found nothing. My ram is using the same amount as usual, although svchost is using more than usual, 26,952+. Does anyone remember the name of that ram scanner? I might want to scan my ram to see if its having any problems. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Never mind I found it, its called memtest, http://hcidesign.com/memtest/

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
