Sound card and video errors

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Since reinstalling windows, i can no longer hear any sound effects, nor can i watch videos.

I have checked the details of the error messages i keep getting and it tells me i have no sound card installed?

Also, windows media player is refusing to play any video files without a program such as power dvd for back up... any suggestions would be great

Check your device manager and make sure you have the proper drivers installed for your video card and sound card. If you're on a fresh install, you may also want to install the latest versions of said drivers for those devices.

Use the system info program to see what video/sound card you have.

Download Everest Home or SIS Sandra.

Thats great, thanks .

According to the system summary, i have a MPU-401 COMPATABLE MIDI DEVICE... have been to microsoft.com and googled but cant find the driver.. any ideas where to find it?

Apparently the Win 3.1 audio driver also works with it?

Youre welcome!
But that is just The part of the Midi sound on your mobo. ( for syntezisers and stuff).

If you use Everest Home instead. And look under "Multimedia" and " PCI, PnP Sound" You will find the sound card.
