Is there some link to this site from Yahoo or something?

I mean, besides from their search engine, obviously... but man we're getting a lot of questions about Yahoo mail and games lately.
People need to learn to use GMail so they stop having problems all the time. -_-

Haha, good point. I kind of assume everyone has access to it since everyone who does have infinity invites anyway...

this place does score highly in the search engines because it covers such a wide array of topics. People post here because responses range from being ignored to solving the problem, unlike many similar places where people just get abused for asking questions the locals consider 'dumb'.
questions are repeated so much because people dont understand the answers given or refuse to accept something within the answer (or havent admitted to something important in the question).
I am an explosive entree

You're probably right, but it's only recently that we got a sudden influx of Yahoo! related questions. Maybe they started sucking a lot recently.

We have stickies about AOL passwords and POGO game accounts because we can't answer those questions, and we got tired of copy-and-pasting the link to the actual AOL and POGO support and password recovery page.

the 'computer randomly shuts down' thread is a great example of this kind of thing, if you ever get bored (really really bored mind) go in and count how many identical posts there are where people have basically repeated the orginal question without reading any of the given answers
still thats what makes a good help forum, helpful, knowledgeable patient people (..need bucket to vomit...)
in terms of the influx of yahoo questions, its because the service is getting more complex as they try and compete with similar services. the more complex it gets the more confused the users get. they really should use forums like this to gauge what people are finding most confusing about their services...
