Weird DNS Issue
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I started having this problem when I moved into my new apartment on campus for college, but I know it's something on my PC. I have a NetGear router/access point that has the Internet going to my Windows XP Desktop and my Fedora Core 4 Dell Laptop. Many times a day, my Desktop decides to drop all DNS options so I can't get to any sites but AIM and all that is still connected. Also, I can ALWAYS get to my site (keithmcd.com) regardless of whether or not I can get to any other sites. The only way to get back to full functionality is to reboot the computer.
I know it's not a problem with my router because my Laptop can still access the Internet just fine.
Anyone got any ideas or need more info?

Still having the same issue. Anyone? I'll try just about anything short of formatting. I think it's something to do with how my computer deals with DNS, but have no clue where to even start.
Anyone?

Try setting up a static DNS.(Start>control panel>network connections>right click local area connection>propereties>Highlight internet protocol TCP/IP>properties>Select use the following dns server address) if i remember correctly netgears IP address is 192.168.0.1 if so, then type in 192.168.0.1 for the primary dns server address and 4.2.2.2 for the alternate dns server address.click ok then click close
