windows xp, OS 64 bit version?

thought i would toss this out here and see what i catch .
i have read that there was a beta of this operating system
i will look online for more info .
anybody hear of this ? or is it still in development?
my show is on in 10 minutes so i will check later sorry cant miss LOST.

I do not think there is a 64 bit operating system out, not even in beta yet. Even when it comes out, it probably won't be to common, since they will be for computers with 64-bit processors and multiple gigabytes of RAM.

Man, you don't do any research whatsoever when you post these things, do you? Seriously, if you don't know something, don't pretend to know the answer.

I also can't see how posting a question like this on a forum will take *less* time than a 300ms search query on Google.

ms has had its beta out for quite some time now.

I think your best bet is to go with Windows XP pro (or keep it if you got it). Skip the 64-bit version. Some things are still dodgy with the 64-bit version and really you won't notice any performance increase at all.

By the time software ctahes up with 64-bit, Windows Vista will be out and probably have much better support than XP 64-bit.
