downloading

When i click on a link on the internet to download something the dialog box comes up but the only 2 options are save and cancel, not download. When i click on save the thing i am trying to download is saved on my computer but when i click on it it does not open. How come this happens and what can i do to fix it??

What browser and operating system are you using? Firefox?

More importantly, what kind of files are you downloading?
FYI, there is no "Download" button in most browsers. "Save" is what you're looking for.

Unless they mean the 'open' button is not an option. But clicking 'save' will download the file to your computer.
