Open Tech Support to update its forum script by New Year's

Just a courtesy message to all our members and visitors informing you that Open Tech Support is set to upgrade its forum script to the latest version before the end of the year.

This would mean about a day or two of downtime as we try to import our current database over to the new scripts. The same goes for the gallery section of our site as we will also be updating that one.

Since we will be upgrading to a vanilla version of the new forum, many of the custom features of our site will not be available after the update. These include the arcade, the journals, articles, reviews, and other small things within the site.

So what's the big deal with the upgrade? You'll see for yourself after it's done. vBulletin 3.5.2 has great new features and also allows easier modification and addition of new things. I guarantee you'll like it better than the current one.

I guess that's it. Our apologies for the lack of updates in the last few months - real life is a pain in the ass

In that case I had better wish you Laggy and all the Mods and others involved in the site a festive greeting and bode you all well for the forthcoming 2006 year. Just in case I either forget or the sites down when I next visit. PS Well done so far and many more years of OTS.
