Battlefield 2 CD-key not Valid?!

Ok, I reformatted my hard drive to make everything run smoothly again. Thing is, I have 2 hard drives, with one holding all my games, and the other (the one I reformatted) for Windows and stuff. After I'm done, when I try to load up BF2, it's messed up and needs to reinstall. Weird, but whatever, so I do. Everything goes fine, now I'm in the game. I try to join a sever, and it tells me my CD-key isn't valid. WTF?! I gave it my CD-key at installation without any problems. I really need help with this, so any ideas are appreciated.

Did you patch the game to the 1.12 patch? If not try that. If you did patch the game and it still gives you that message you should try reinstalling the patch. I believe this was widely discussed on the xfire forums. Go over there and take a look in the BF2 forum, or search for invalid cd key. I think it may have to do with registry files being left behind. Good luck, hope you figure this out.
