on a 550 mhz processor? I believe that to have direct x 9.0 (needed to run sims 2) i need to update my graphics card, however the graphics card i got needs a 800 mhz processor. Is it possible to get a graphics card that will support direct x 9.0 and work on my 550mhz processor? Thanx for any info.

Not very likely. Try to see if you can find a used Geforce FX 5500 or Radeon 9250. 128 mb on E-bay. If you still wanna give it a try? That way, you wont loose any mayor money on the experiment.
A new Radeon 9250 is about 50 bucks and the FX 5500 is about 60 to 70 bucks. So if you can find a used one, then it will be cheap.

I see, so do these graphics cards work on a lower processor then? Will it definatley support direct x 9.0? Thanks for you help again!!

Yepp, they will support direct x 9.0c. But as I said earlier, I can't swear on that the card will work.
If you run into problems? Try downloading "Everest Home, and look under "Chipset" and "Northbridge chipset. Then make a note of what northbridge chipset you got? Then go to the chipset manufacturer and download a new chipset driver for your motherboard.

This driver affects all ports, including the AGP port, that holds the video card.

You're welcome.
