Hello ,
I'm new to this community .. this is my 1st post !!
I have a problem with : Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow .
well, I've already searched the Forum for the problem that I have , and I found out that I'm not the only one facing this problem.
It's the "Pixel Shader Support" problem ... I've read here that the problem is obviously the unsupported video card .

- I have an Intel(R) 82845 , just like you see in this picture ... you say it's not supported , but why does it have a "v" next to it ??!!
- Is this video card I have 64MB Video Card ???
- Why cant i play the game with my current video card ??

Hi!
Your integrated card lacks support for the shader. And probably something more the game requires. 64mb of video memory is a bit too small, to be able to run that game, without stuttering. And never games, will be even worse.
Download "Everest Home" And check under "Motherboard" / "Expansion slots", if you have an "AGP port"?
If you find you have such an AGP port.
Then this is good, pretty cheap card:
SAPPHIRE 100566L-RD BK-HS Radeon 9800SE 128MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail $70.00
If you find, that you have'nt got any AGP? then a "PCI videocard" is what you should get. But dont confuse "PCI videocards" with "PCI Express"! you cant run PCI express on your machine.
A PCI videocard, will fit into any PCI slot on your motherboard.
Here is a good PCI videocard:
eVGA 128-P1-N320-LX Geforce FX5500 128MB 64-bit DDR PCI Low Profile Video Card - Retail $54.00
You can find the cards at newegg, webshop.
You also may have to disable the integrated videochip in BIOS, after installing the new videocard.
P.s. Dont put any trust in the s.c. "Minimum system requirements". They are set ridiciously low. So the game manufacturer can sell more games.
Look at the "Recommended system requirements" instead. They are at least more close to the truth.

ok , i downloaded Everest Home and i checked under Motherboard .. and and there is no AGP Port.. (i found : CPU, CPUID, Motherboard, Memory, SPD, Chipset, BIOS).
then i checked under display , and found : PCI/AGP Video..
what should i get ???
can't i get GeForce FX 5200 ??

Also check under "Motherboard" + "motherboard physical info" and "Expansion places (slots)"
The FX 5500 is a better card, than FX 5200. The FX 5200, is the smallest card in the "FX" series.
But if you have got AGP. The Sapphire 9800SE is the best card for you, considerieng Performance / price.

i looked everywhere for "Expansion places (slots)" and i cant find it , there is no "motherboard physical info" !!
will the game work if i get GeForce FX 5500 ??

Yes, That PCI, eVGA FX 5500 will play most games. As long as you dont use too high quality settings and monitor resoloution.
And you will discover that even your old games, will look like new.
A tip, is to update the videocard driver for the FX card as soon as possible. Cuz the driver included in the videocard CD, is probably an older one.
You will find the driver at Nvidia home. A Forceware driver is generic and suits all Geforce cards.
To get into the videocard driver propertys. Just right click on your Windows desk. This you do in order to adjust the monitor and card settings in a way that suits you best.
Also dont forget, that you must set resoloution in the drivers propertys. ( 768 X 1040 is a good setting). And then the monitor update frequensy, under the tab "monitor". 75 Hz is a good update frequensy, that will lower the monitors flickering and spare your eyes.
And if you click the tab with the videocards name on. You can set the colour, sharpness etc.
This settings above, you will have to do every time you update the videocard driver.
Check for a new driver update at least every 3 month.
