Bf2 and Vid Card problem

Hey all,For xmas i got Battlefield 2 and the BF2 Expansion Special forces. Well i went and installed Bf2 and everything went fine till i went to go play. I clicked the game it started up and i got past the Introduction up until clicking on Multiplayer or Single...the screen would go black and it would say vpu recover stuff and like my VG locked up or stopped respoding to commands and then like id have to close out BF2 and restart it but when i go to restart it,it wouldent start until i restarted the Pc.... My Gc is a Ati Powercolor 9250 pci card with 256mb onboard memory can anyone help PLEASE!

First, try to lower the monitor resoloution to 768 X 1024, if you have set it higher. Also lower any quality settings you have done.
Download a new Cathalyst driver from ATI home.

ok well i downloaded all the updates it didnt work so now ill mess with the settings, and iv also always hadthe setting on 1024 X 768 so ill lower then high color to medium i guess
